When we were in Canggu we knew we had to make a stop at La Laguna. Its mentioned online as one of the best places to eat and the ultimate Gypsy heaven so we headed there pretty excited.
As soon as we arrived and walked up the cobbled street with gypsy caravans I knew we were not going to be disappointed. The ‘street’ is filled with caravans and benches all with different paintings and signs on them. I loved looking inside them all to see the amazing velvet interior with chandeliers.
Once we arrived at the actual bar (yes that was just the entrance way) theres so many different nooks and areas to sit and choose from. Theres beanbags, tables and chairs, benches, the bar area. Basically anything to suit anyone. There was also a grassed area which would have been amazing to hire out for a garden party.
We got a seat overlooking the beach as the sun was setting. It was perfect and one of those moments you just sit there and have to take it all in.
We sat down and were handed the wooden menu boards, we ordered a few tapas style options to choose from and share (although I wasn’t going to share my calamari, sorry Dave).
After the meal we walked around the bar again as it was now darker and all the lights were glowing golden yellow. We took so many photos but you just cant show how cosy it all felt on a photo.
We also went for a walk down to the beach along the pier they have. Its covered in vintage light bulbs and the wood is all hand painted with flowers. The attention to detail at this place was something else.
If your in the Canggu area this is one place you can not miss. They also have a chain of other restaurants which if we had more time I’m sure we would make it our mission to visit them all and you have no excuse not to at least try one of their places.
