After a week off work we managed to get a lot of the rooms in the house nearly finished. Most of what we need to do now its buying bigger items such as fitted wardrobes and a sideboard for the kitchen, which we need to save for first. It's so lovely to finally have somewhere the feels like home, as the feeling of being in limbo from my mums house to the new house was really starting to get me down.
First up I thought I would show you around my dressing room. When we viewed the house I fell in love with this little room at the front of the house, I was already mentally planning where my wardrobe was going to go and which walls I was going to paint in Dalmatian print. (If it was up to me I would have painted the whole room spotty but my mum and sister had to share some advice and simmer down my ‘too much gene’) I got the inspiration for my wall from Georgie Lloyd and her amazing interior design. I think Dave is sick of me sending her instagram feed to him for home and hair inspo.
My desk, table top and display shelf are all from Ikea, I don't think the Ikea Alex draws need much more explanation. I’ve managed to fit; hair extensions, tools and products along with makeup, socks, pants, bras, pjamas *breathe* first aid kit, jewellery, belts and finally my hard drives and computer cables. So they are the perfect draws to contain all your junk and then some. I now don’t know what I would do without them.
I got the gold trays from eBay and then spray painted one of my old photo frames and signs to have a gold trim. The table mats were on sale in primark too and are perfect for using to protect my table from my makeup when I'm getting ready.
My personalised print from Mapiful goes perfectly in this room and really adds a bit of personalisation to the space. I can’t believe its 300 days to the wedding today too!
And of course, the star of the show, the Dalmatian print wall! I used a stencil from Etsy with a sponge and black paint to create this amazing wall. It took some time to do and I did need a lot of patience to wait for things to dry but eventually we got there. Im super happy with how it came out and the time and effort was definitely worth it.
All thats left to do now is get some fitted wardrobes and print off some photographs for my frames. I hope you have enjoyed my little dressing room tour, I can’t wait to share the rest of the house with you over the next few weeks.
