Day one in Chiang Mai and me and Dave were both craving a sandwich or toastie. We looked on trip advisor and after a windy back and forth walk we finally found My Secret Cafe. This place was really popular and many people had come here to work and for meetings. The food here was really good just nice and simple good food swell as some really cool artwork.
We of course had to take a break from the coffee shops and go to see some of the sights in Chiang Mai. We went to go and see the Tha Phae Gate, which is the last remnants of the city wall. Its now become home to hundreds of pigeons and tourists however we decided not to feed them as it looked pretty scary even for me who loves animals.
I took the opportunity to take a photo with a pink bug we saw parked up. Safe to say I need one of these when we get home. Does anyone else watch Once Upon A Time? If so you’ll understand why I need one!
The next day we went to see the amazing elephants in a sanctuary about an hour away from the town. We took so many photo’s that it deserves its own blog post but heres a sneak peek of some of the photos we got.
Next up you guessed it, another cafe! This time we went for a Disney theme and went to ‘Into The Woods’ This place was great and I loved the mural on the wall. The smoothies and waffles were also amazing, I think we are becoming coffee shop addicts towards the end of this trip.
So you could say that all we seemed to do in Chiang Mai was go to cafes, I think the travelling has finally taken its toll on us both and all we want to do now is sit and relax with a cup of tea and cake. Not long till Europe though and I think it will be great to have a change of scenery and climate.
Next up Chiang Rai!
