Hasn’t it been a weird old few weeks! I hope you are all doing as well as you can be during this time. Its crazy that we have another 3 weeks at least of this. But I’m so glad the precautions are being made for us all to stay safe. It also means I get to spend more time at home with the doggies. But we have an issue now, Tinkerbell has become even more obsessed with me, she cries when I go to the bathroom. She is literally attached to my hip pretty much all day and if she can’t see me she starts crying. Such a little drama queen, I have no idea where she gets it from. Does anyone have any tips for dogs who have a bit of separation anxiety?
I had a bit of a rough few weeks at the beginning of lockdown, the whole process of me and David having to move our wedding to next year was so stressful. After that whole situation I felt so unmotivated and fed up. I just spent the whole week after in my PJ’s, feeling sorry for myself and binging Netflix and Animal Crossing. I think one of the main things is not to be so hard on yourself for not being really productive during isolation. For example, all this stuff in this blog post has happened over the space of 5 weeks. Most of the things I have done haven’t been that productive at all. I have just decided to go with the flow now, if I’m feeling productive then great, but if I’m not that’s okay too. I want to use this time to rest and recharge and emerge from this a bit of a better person, even if that means I haven’t really achieved much at all. But I suppose you could class this as an achievement though. After 30 days playing Animal Crossing (and over 100 hours of game time) I finally got a 5 Star rated town!
Easter weekend was lovely. Even though I have been working from home (which kind of feels like a break already) it was so nice to have 4 days off. Luckily the weather was amazing too so we got to spend a lot of time in the garden. We made some lovely food, sat in the garden and just recharged for a few days. We had a lovely hamper delivered by David’s dad, filled with lots of treats and of course, lots of lemonade for me! We are still working our way through all the bottles now.
Whilst the weather was nice we decided to pull out some of the summer furniture from the shed however, it appeared that some mice had got there first! So I decided to take down the shed and within an hour it had completely gone. It’s made a huge difference and we have so much more space. Eventually we are going to get the decking re done. I have been looking at getting composite decking instead of wood just so its a bit more low maintenance.
Apart from tackling some household chores, I have been using this time in lockdown to start really looking after myself. Once the whole stress of moving the wedding was over I had a really nice pamper evening. It only took a few hours but I felt amazing after. I’m planning on doing this every Sunday so I’m all relaxed and ready for a new week. This weeks focus is skincare which means a bath to steam and open my pores and then a few Tropic face masks. I have been loving the Soothing Cooling Mask which is super hydrating and perfect for helping all the eczema that has appeared on my face. Just a heads up, you can get all 3 Tropic Skincare face masks for £40 now (saving you £20!) Be sure to pop my name in as your ambassador and get free postage.
So here’s to another week in lockdown, I hope you all stay safe and have a lovely week whatever you decide to do.
