WEEKLY DIARY – LOCKDOWN CONTINUES

This week has flown by! Which is kind of a good thing as the last 5 weeks of working from home is starting to take its toll. I feel like this week has been the hardest week to get through. Is anyone else feeling the same? The whole week from Monday-Friday was a little, beige shall I say. Nothing really happened and the working from home life is just becoming the norm. The novelty of being able to stay in my pyjamas all day has kind of worn off and I actually miss being able to go in the office now.

It’s been two of my friend’s birthdays recently and I think that’s when it really started to sink in how long I haven’t seen them for, and that I’m not sure when I will see them next. I’ve been trying to think of things to take my mind off everything, things like scrapbooking or soduku, but my mind just hadn’t been in it.

Then this surprise arrived on my doorstep from Charl, it was a real pick me up and just what I needed! I can’t wait to start this jigsaw tomorrow. She had also made me homemade soup and cookies which were super yummy and got me wanting to start some cooking myself.

Something else which has taken my mind off things was getting my Kalimba. Dave brought this for my birthday but let me have it early. It’s a bit harder than I expected but its really nice to take my mind off things. I usually log off from work and then spend 20 minutes on the Kalimba, it almost feels a bit like meditation. Mine is a really pretty floral design and came with a drawstring pouch and some free music sheets too.

To try and cheer myself up I unpacked all the clothes which I had put aside for my hen party to Paris and also our honeymoon. It was time to put on some make-up and do a bit of a fashion show. It actually really cheered me up and I forgot about some of the items which I had brought. It was like shopping all over again.

And an update from virtual Abbie (aka Animal Crossing Abbie). She’s just relaxing, taking it easy. She is getting a little stressed trying to breed some hybrid flowers, but with her trusty golden watering can I’m sure she will pull through!

And that’s all from me this week. I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing bath this evening and catching up on some Gogglebox.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend ahead.

Thanks for reading, Abbie.
